About

Rae Levine’s powerful blend of hands-on leadership and management experience is steeped in 28 years of providing consulting, training, and facilitation for organization development to a wide variety of nonprofits. She brings particular expertise in the following areas:
Leadership and management
 Leadership transition
 Board development
 Strategic planning
 Organizational effectiveness
 Facilitation

Rae is known for designing, guiding, and facilitating conversations that enable people—in both organizations and communities—to work together to plan, solve problems, and take action.

Most recently, Rae served as the founding executive director of a community land trust set up to expand affordable housing in a challenging market north of San Francisco. She led the organization during its first 7.5 years of operations and, in collaboration with a dedicated board of trustees and a workforce of thirty active volunteers, created a compelling vision, achieved an ambitious 5-year goal toward that vision, and raised more than $2.7 million for program and operations.

Previously, Rae was a senior consultant and managing director with Interaction Associates, Inc., an internationally known consulting and training firm. She was the lead designer and product development manager of Mastering Meetings for Results, a premier course on effective meetings and team problem solving.

Rae’s earlier experience includes working in a regional network of cooperative food stores and suppliers, co-founding a worker-managed interstate trucking company, serving as Director of Operations for a non-profit employment and training agency serving farmworkers, and creating partnerships of business, education, and labor organizations to train unemployed workers as solar energy systems installers.

Rae has also served as a volunteer mediator. She has lived, worked, and volunteered in Latin America and is fluent in Spanish.
